PDU power distribution units with residual current and line protection

Did you know that the high-quality power strips from Schneikel Electronics are available in countless variants and configurations? Even for the most unusual applications, there is a matching powerstrip. And if there is nothing suitable in the large standard range, there is still the possibility to put together a customized bar exactly according to your ideas.

Today I would like to introduce you to two specialties from the standard assortment.

There is the possibility to equip your power strip with an additional miniature circuit breaker (CB, "fuse") or even with a residual current circuit breaker (FI-LS) for increased safety. This makes it possible to achieve a secure connection of their devices, even if the installation conditions do not meet today's standards.

In many older buildings, former industrial halls and lofts there are installations that are protected by more than 10A and have no general FI protection. There, it makes sense to use the power strip with LS or FI-LS to create a safe environment for the connected devices and for you as a user.

What is an LS? What is an FI-LS?

An LS or circuit breaker is the modern and better version of the conventional screw fuse. It contains two safety elements, on the one hand the quick-acting short-circuit protection and on the other hand the deliberately slow-acting overload protection. This protects your devices and also the installation cables from short-circuits and overloads. Short term starting currents, e.g. However, due to the delayed tripping characteristic in the overload range, motors do not cause the CB to trip and thus cause a power failure.

An FI-LS or residual current circuit breaker as installed by us, in addition to the line protection functions also contains an extremely effective personal protection. If conductive parts become live due to any fault in the connected equipment, then you are in danger of touching these parts. Often these are not recognizable errors from the outside. As soon as the FI realizes that a current is starting to flow through your body, it will immediately disconnect the entire power strip and all devices connected to it. You may then feel a "bang" or a tingling, but you can be sure that the deadly current flow is interrupted within a few thousandths of a second.

Such a LS or FI-LS is expensive, right?

Of course, extra protection costs something. But you will be surprised that the price difference is smaller than you might think. With our sharp calculation and the cost effective shopping, as a large buyer, we have advantages that we pass directly to you. And another thought that can not be expressed in francs:

A preventive electric accident is always worth the additional investment, don't you think?

In this sense, we wish you a simple and carefree handling of electricity through the individually tested power strips by Schneikel.
